Many eating establishments – large and small – have been unable to sustain themselves through the long months of the pandemic. However, there are still many new signs of life. Some businesses have opened during these slower months. One such eatery is the Krispy Kreme flagship doughnut emporium smack dab in the middle of Times Square, the center of it all! This 4,500-square foot sugar temple sits amidst the dark Broadway theaters and near-empty streets in what is typically one of the busiest spots on the planet.

The store’s rotating HOT sign shines brightly 24 hours a day, as the store remains perpetually open and ready to dish out krispy sugary goodness. You can only enjoy its wares on the go, though. The doughnut-themed seats are not presently available for in-store dining.

Given the decrease in entertainment options for those able to visit the city, the Krispy Kreme store has proven to be a significant draw. Shortly after opening, the store was hosting over one thousand customers a day, which is progress but nowhere near the level of business it will do once we conquer the coronavirus.

While you’re there, be sure to check out the signature Big Apple Doughnut available nowhere else in the world. The confection features apple filling, glossy red icing, a green sugar leaf, and a pretzel stick stem. This singular sensation sells for $10.99 EACH, which after tax will set you back $11.92. But it comes in a green gift box…let me not fail to mention the gift box. Hey, you know what they say, if you can make it here….
