Often on the weekends I walk a well-worn path through the West Village remembering restaurants long gone, neighborhood shops that gave way to new stores. I stop by one of my favorite bookstores, Three Lives & Co.
These days all the cafes and bistros have built outdoor seating sections to accommodate new regulations and opportunities as a result of the pandemic. Flower shops and neighborhood stores have decorated for fall.
Another frequent stop on the weekends is the fabulous Farmers Market at Union Square Park. Dozens of local vendors – restricted to New York state and local New Jersey sellers – put up stalls and sell their fresh fruits and vegetables, meat, wine and vodka, yarn, flowers, honey, and more.
